  • @yousurfer2 yes you can do it manually

  • I have the older Z915 and have been happy with it. It's 10 MP and takes .avi movie files at 640X480. Its nice to see this HD is a big improvement BUT the annoying autofocus in and out is not much better than the Z915. The Z915 is a bit of a battery hog but this Z950 has a bigger LCD screen, not sure who this effects the battery life in the Z950.

Overall, doesn't look like much of an improvement over the Z915, at least not unless this Z950 is priced at around $100.

  • Sound quality is amazing... and the details of the tree it captured...

  • auto focus sucks

  • great quality but the focus is a bit annoying, maybe this could be done manually?

  • @TonysMusicRoom Amazon lists... "Capture more video while using less memory with MPEG-4 compression" That is why I thought it was mp4 Im debating between this one and the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55

  • @RebelliousHutterite2

I have this cam now and it saves in Quicktime .MOV format and it's about 90MB per minute of video with a max of about 2GB/1Hr file size. I would rather it being an AVI rather than MOV but overall I'm very happing with the video quality on such a small/cheap camera ($99CDN on sale at Shopper Drug Mart). Still picture quality (mainly the vividness of the colours) could be better though considering my very old Canon 3MP point and shoot pictures look slightly better to me.

  • @KiyoshiAugustus Because it needs to focus..

  • @openmindedproduction Im thinking about getting this cam myself. Video format is mp4. Not sure on the file size, but I know a similar Sony camera does 720p mp4 video... at around 70mb per 1 minute of video. I assume its about the same.

  • How long of a video clip will this z950 tak?
