Kilimanjaro Video Diary - Rongai Route, pt. 16

Certificate Ceremony in the gardens of the Marangu Hotel. We got cleaned up and met in the garden to receive our certificates for climbing the mountain. We bought several rounds of drinks for the guides and porters and handed out tips and sang a few songs. That Kilimanjaro Lager beer never tasted so good!

Let me add that if you ever want to climb the mountain, you should pick Marangu Hotel - the owner Desmond and all his staff are so professional, nice and the hotel is beautiful and relaxed with great food and vibe. They are the first organization to ever guide customers up the mountain, starting in the 1940's -- go with them if you want to get to the top, and I can highly recommend the guides Geoffrey, Lionel and Goodluck, and I've heard Frederick is also a great guide with Americans...these guys have more experience than most other guides on the mountain, and have a far-reaching reputation.
