Cool, but what i don't understand is how it can coat the phone completely without hindering the conductivity of the exposed usb port and headphone jack? If the usb port and the headphone jack are still conductive after being coated then submerging the phone under salt water will short the circuit. But if the coating stops the ports from being conductive then they become useless.

Can anyone explain how this works to me?

Actually if you stick the phone in a bag of rice it will dry out the system. So you don't have to worry about it going into the case. This technology isn't for submerging the phone in water, it's just for spills. It's just they submerged it to make themselves look better.

Johnny doesn't know what he is talking about, but there actually is an oil that allows this. That's how people make fish tank computers. It allows all electronics to work while still keeping the system cool. You should look it up.
