@MegaMonkeyTrouble Right, except Mr. Banks already has a well-established position at the bank that he has worked very hard for, thus it would be unfair to ask him to be the one to give up his job. It's quite apparent that her children are not her first priority if she can't even say to herself, "Hmmm, he has a job and I don't. Maybe I should be the one to spend time with my children." Albeit he could be a little more of a father but that's sort of what the movie is working towards anyway.
-
@Chibikan Or a woman could work and the father could stay with the kids.

@Chibikan rights would be to show that she can work AND take care of the children too. You can't just go demanding such rights, you must show first that you can make use of them. If you want a job doing what men typically do, show that you can do it. Lift that heavy crate, run a forklift, etc. In the end, marching in the streets and waving banners and standing in everyone's way doesn't help and it just creates conflict.

@Chibikan I AM saying that ONE of them should if they have that luxury. Since she's NOT working a money-making job to help out she should be helping out by caring for her children. In other words, that should be her first priority. Your kids should always come first before anything else. So I;m asking, why do they need a nanny since she does not work? She could still do the Women's Rights Movement, but her first priority should be her children. After all, a good first step to earning those

@MegaMonkeyTrouble That is true however, it's also clear that she does not need such a job to help out the family. I agree that women should be allowed to work if they wish. I also know that a lot of the trouble with today's children is because they're so used to being bandied about from caretaker to caretaker because their parents are so busy working and what not that they don't have time for them. I'm not saying that a man should work and the woman should stay home with the kids.

This movie is still so amazing.
I never really liked the parts without Julie Andrews when I was little, but now I can appreciate these scenes.
