Randy Wood scores off a Mats Sundin rush to win game six of the Leafs/Hawks first round series in 1995. This forced a seventh game, which Chicago won to take the series.

As you can see, I was a little slow on hitting "record" on this one, and the picture quality is only so-so. Still, as far as I know this has never been on youtube before so at least the replays will be there.

Randy Wood was voted "Least Memorable Leaf Player To Score An Overtime Goal In The Playoffs" at http://generalborschevsky.blogspot.com/.

  • RIP Maple Leaf Gardens.

  • RIP Pat Burns.

  • I was at the United Center for Game 7, and it ruled. :)

  • I rember this goal vividly, and the exact context it was scored in, but damn if I was utterly mistaken about who scored it. I always thought it was Sundin or Gilmour, but no it was somebody I forgot ever existed. Poor Randy Wood.

  • Sadly, the Leafs would lose Game 7 in Chicago:-( But thanks for posting anyhow:-D

  • There was one up, but the guy's account got suspended.

  • Thanks for all the great vids from the Burns/Dougie era...the only playoff OT goal I haven't seen on youtube is Gartner's in game 6 against the Sharks in 94.

  • Sundin's stupid looking helmet lol

  • I went to one of the games in this series. I'm pretty sure we won 1-0 with Eastwood scoring the only goal.

  • Some of the best playoff hockey I ever watched was when these two teams met 2 years in row. 'Hawks had Chelios in his prime, Steve Smith and Gary Suter. You couldn't get a freaking golf ball past those guys. Belfour was more acrobatic in those days than he was later in his career. Then you had Sundin, Dougie, The Cat, etc.... Good times. Looking forward to some truculence this year
