The cabinet has settled on the 3rd Monday of December of every fifth year to be the elections date. This was agreed at a cabinet meeting chaired by President Kibaki at State House. And as Chris Thairu reports, the Cabinet also appears to have found a mechanism for the resolution of the 'two thirds gender rule' controversy.

  • the problem with having all elections in one day is the skirmishes, have people elect different people on different times.
