The only filmed performance of Fred Neil in existence (for all we know)! From The Rolling Coconut Revue, August 2nd, 1976, Coconut Grove, Florida. With longtime collaborator Vince Martin, The Lovin Spoonful's John Sebastian, dobro legend Pete Childs, and Bob Ingram.

Be sure to check out Alana Amram & The Rough Gems' tribute album to Vince Martin, "Snow Shadows: Songs of Vince Martin." Available 8/30/11. http://alanaamram.com/

  • What a great video! Bob Ingram (in blue on the right) is my wonderful neighbor. Shortly after I bought my little Grove bungalow, I rolled into my driveway. It was a beautiful winter day and my windows were down. I heard someone playing sweetly on the guitar on their front porch...it was Bobby. I knew then that I had picked the right house! Bobby and his wife Gay are now our dear friends.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! This s priceless, but it's sad that this is the only video of Fred available. He is obviously well into his "retirement" to Cocoanut Grove. I've been a Fred Neil fan ever since his album with Vince came out ('61?). Back then, I was checking out every new Elektra release. RIP, Fred. You were one of a kind.

  • Does anyone know if Peter Childs is still around, & does he still play?

  • la sua musica mi comunica tranquillità

  • COOL AS FK, PSYCHEDELIC MAN;) QUALITY IS AGELESS,REPLAY,,,,

  • Wow, after all these decades I finally get to see film of the man playing! Thanks so much for posting this. I hope the rest of this performance sees the light of day sometime.

I know he also did sets in Japan & Montreux around this era, I hope those tapes emerge sometime as well.

  • Im blown away finding this...........thank you

    Ken Neil (Morlock)
