Video taken in the morning of June 18. High water lines were visible on all glass windows. The entire downtown was caked in mud, and reeked of spoiled food and mold.
There was just too much damage, and we disappeared from the national news scene far too early. The latest damage estimate in Linn county (including Cedar Rapids) was $5.8 billion.
And I'm not so sure the help from FEMA was really help. They gave us all those horrible trailers that had all those problems.
