I made this twin engine P51 Mustang (also know as a P82 in WWII) using 2 Parkzone micro P51 's. It fly's great, look for a video of it flying soon. The wings overlap by approx 1/2", and the props are approximately 1" from each other.
It flys GREAT, and has TONS of power. It rolls very well to the left (because of the rotation of the props) but is very slow to roll to the right (although it does roll to the right). The aircraft are completely stock using the stock motors, the only modifications are: the wings were cut & attached to each other, the horizontal stabalizers & elevators were removed and replaced with a single stab & elevator (just like the real one - P82). ALL the stock servos & control links were used (you can see in the video that I did NOT open the fuesalage tomake this aircraft, all mods were done externally). I added a carbon fiber spar to the center wings attaching the spar to the top of one wing & the bottom of the other wing. I also installed a carbon fiber spar on the horizontal stabilizer just for added torque strength (just in case). I made the horizontal stab & elevator using a spare wing (purchased seperately). I cut the wing just in front of the aileron (Approx 1 1/8") and also used the attached aileron.
I removed the verticle stabs & rubbers, installed the new horizontal & elevator, & then reinstalled both stock rudders. I used the elevator control on the right side fueslage, and the rudder controls on both left & right fueslage.
During one flight I had an engine failure due to a battery dropping below limits & the aircraft starting spinning badly. I reduced all power & the aircraft straightened out & I was able to land it. Once I replaced the batteries with fresh batteries it flew perfectly again.
I will post a video of this aircraft flying just as soon as I can get someone to video tape it while flying (the video I took using my iPhone is too small to really see it fly).
nice

Great video. One question How do you get both motors to operate on one reciever? Thanks

@bakonlicious It's simple, you just "bind" each of the aircraft receivers to the same transmitter. Just bind them one at a time just as the instructions say (plug in the receiver with the transmitter off, after 3-5 seconds push in the throttle on the transmitter & turn it on, release the throttle & the receiver is now bound to the transmitter. DO this to both the aircraft/receivers and the controls & throttles will all operate together.

First off, awesome, awesome job!! Five stars all the way. I want to try this some time. Question: did you ever consider trying to reverse the polarity of one motor so the torque cancels out (then it would turn either way with equal ease)?

@pi3k Thank you VERY much for the nice compliment :) Having the motors counter rotating is not a problem, the problem is getting reverse pitch props. No one manufactures a reverse pitch prop that's the same size....
