UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on October 8, 2011, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The event will coincide with a two day UFC Fan Expo to be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

UFC 136 will feature two preliminary fights live on Spike TV.

Josh Grispi was expected to face Matt Grice at the event, but Grispi was forced from the bout and replaced by Nam Phan. Grice himself was also forced from the card with an injury and replaced by Leonard Garcia.

Nick Catone was expected to face Aaron Simpson at the event but was forced off the card with an injury and replaced by Eric Schafer.

Dave Herman was scheduled to fight Mike Russow at the event, but the bout was cancelled after Herman failed his preliminary drug test in which he tested positive for marijuana. Herman denies using the prohibited substance.

@Werdxp Yes I agree he will be in top ten for couple more years but you almost say it yourself in the firts 2 sentences, he has the power to rock anyone in the division for sure, but hes not to technical in comparising to those guys, and he showed he doesnt have the best chin either last night.. Well lets just hope this gives him the fire to destroy some guys in the future

@ducr0t1988 He has enough power to compensate for the technique he lacks compare to a guy like pettis. He has good enough technique to connect at some point or another, and his shots are brutal. I wouldn't give him the bad label of having punchers chance. I dont really see him being Champ either, but he will float around the top 10 for sure.

@Werdxp yes I agree he should have got passed joe, but his stand up is not up there with guys like barboza/pettis pierson. I mean technicaly he isnt that good he would only have a punchers chance imo..I realy never see him being the lw champ..but only time will tell

The REAL problem was his chin. Guillard can't afford to be hit. With a chin, he is trouble! With his chin, he is IN trouble because it can/will fail him at any given time.

@ducr0t1988 Guillard is good in stand up my frd. The problem is his cockyness. He started the fight as if he some how magically rocked Lauzon before the match started. Then he payed for not picking his shots. He should have been able to "rape" joe lauzon like he said
