  • This really is a damn good movie. I think Larry Cohen is the only man alive that can take such an absurd premise and actually make a good movie out of it.

That final scene in the sewers between father and son is just so fucking sad..

  • Thanx for posting. I'm embarassed to say that I just finished seeing this flick for the first time.

  • so would that count as assaulting an officer with a deadly baby?

The National Monster Association would defend the right to bear monsters: Monsters don't kill people--fathers with monsters kill people!

  • No hostage negotiating there i guess.

  • Surprising amount of pathos and meaning at the ending, for a film that's considered cheesy. Sure the film is dated, but it's actually fairly well acted and shot too, and Bernard Herrmann's score is terrific.

  • At first I viewed the creature as monstrous, but as I watched the movie I began to see him For what he really was. A terrified infant, born mutant in a world filled with judgemental people.(Then again, slaughtering the entire delivery room staff wont leave a good first impression.) Despite the carnage it wreaked out of terror, it was an innocent baby. And an intelligent one from what I'm seeing. I wonder, if raised like a normal child and allowed to grow up..What would he be like as an adult?

  • Decent horror flick. Great ending: kill the monster, just to find out that another has been born. Good thing to put in there, in my opinion

  • @LadyLillianContessa I was born in '74...are you implying that I may be a cannibalistic freak?...hmmm...would you like to come round for dinner?

  • @pukedragon best post ever. Thanks for making me laugh.

  • @GoblinXXX guess it's all a matter of perspective. ; )

  • @qwyzl A wise man once said "Some people can read WAR AND PEACE and get nothing out of it, while others can unlock the secrets of the universe from reading a bubblegum wrapper." (Lex Luthor, SUPERMAN , THE MOVIE)

  • @GoblinXXX prob'ly that last is true.... but still, i can't help thinking about it...
