SHOTS FIRED!!! STRANDED EMS UNIT IN SOUTHWEST DETROIT ON NYE 2012

The City of Detroit has promised to do a better job with its emergency services. That includes making more money available for repairs to ambulances. But that has yet to happen, and EMS units continue to break down on a nightly basis.

On New Year's Even 2011 two Detroit paramedics captured video as their rig breaks down on Detroit's southwest side, while gunshots are fired in the area. It took an hour for someone to show up and tow the rig.

It doesn't matter what the gunfire was intended for. (Celebratory or not) It's the fact that the paramedics cannot leave an area that is undeniably dangerous due to an insane economic model that always fails. The same one that is being forced on you. Masquerading as hope and change.
