Verse 1:
The Greeks thought the Earth was the center of the solar system
The sun and moon were planets
They thought all the mass in the outer space and darkness
Ha ha revolved around us
Now we know the Earth's a planet, one of eight around a star
Thanks to the telescope and Copernicus
They were right about the moon, in orbit, in orbit
Yeah... that one revolves around us

Chorus:
There's a star in our solar system we call the sun
While all the planets and asteroids and comets are on
This curved path around the hydrogen and helium
On this orbit we survive our solar energy life
Hey moons! You orbit planets
Be our natural satellites
(Hey, the Greeks were just a little right)

Verse 2:
Eight planets in order from the sun
With mass and gravity to make them round
Mercury, Venus, Earth and then Mars
These inner planets with terrestrial ground
Outer planets, the giants of gas and ice
Far from the star in our solar system
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune
Across the Orion Arm

Bridge:
4.6 billion year ago
Our solar system in our galaxy was formed
In our Milky Way the Earth was born
With Billions of solar systems in our galaxy
Billions of planets we have yet to see
Billions of galaxies in the universe will be

Verse 3:
Hot star, a ball of gas
Ha ha no solid surface
Held together by its own gravity
It's almost all of the mass in our entire solar system
Life on Earth needs the plasma heat
