Going back in time to review a game about time travel, and I didn't make a single Back to the Future reference. What's wrong with me?

First review with me on camera and still getting used to having to work with it.

  • no offense but your kind of going back and forth; The stages are too reminiscent of old games one minute and the level design is'nt enough like the old stuff. just felt like pointing that out

  • @chocobros1 I meant that they way they look is reminiscent of Sonic 1, but the way the stages are built are not like it.

  • You did a greet job of explaining you oppinion unlike other people on the internet the say a game is awsome and leave it at that, or say it's terrible and do the same thing. The only thing I disagre is the special stages, but that is just my oppinion.

  • @TRackard Thank you, and the funny thing is, Sonic CD is the reason why I started game reviews. Because of everyone saying its awesome without saying why and just leaving it at that.

  • I don't agree with the music aspect; it's in a different format so you can't compare them, it's either better or it's not. There's been great music despite limitations; look at the NES.

  • @jbetenbender I agree with there being good music despite the limitations.

  • @MitkoProductions Lay off. He is not that fat. I know 5 people (who shall remain nameless) that are way way fatter than him.

  • FUCK THIS U SUCK

  • @Hypersonic172 One, if you exit the special stage right before you fail, you can go right back to that stage and try again by going back into the same save file. Two, I try to look at the special stages as something that is suppose to be challenging. Three, the only thing I hate about them is how you can clip through a U.F.O. yes the water doesn't bug me. Four, it is Sega and Sonic Team, not just Sega. Five, I did the special stage with a Key Board. Six, I really like special stages in general.

  • @TRackard Ugh... the SPECIAL STAGES... I just finished the last one yesterday. (i dont have a sega cd, just a ps3, just got the sonic cd game on it) Those things are in my nightmares now, LITERALLY. Finished ALL of them just to find out all I get is GOOD FUTURES AND A HIGH AMY WHO HUGS ME! I was hoping for debug mode, but then find out I gotta do EVERYTHING OVER AGAIN AND BEAT 30 MINUTE TOTAL JUST TO GET THE SPECIAL STAGES, THEN FINISH THAT FOR DEBUG MODE!!!! Damn you, Sega! DAMN YOU!!

  • Very good review. I wasn't a fan of the level design in Sonic CD. It was all so cluttered, both in it's setup and just visually as well. I would think Sonic CD was the real Sonic 1, and Sonic 1 is what they refined it to after. It's weird how 1 and 2 had this good flow, then CD had this crazy setup, and 3/K return to a normal flow. Anyway good to see a review not based on nostalgia, as I think if this was released now as lets say Sonic 4, fans would be unhappy to say the least.

  • 2:07 EXCACTLY! When I'm playing a classic Sonic game, it's more like a platformer because literally every two seconds there's something you have to jump over, ruining the element of speed, WHICH IS WHAT THE GAMES WERE MADE FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE!
