  • This autumn, a new extended version of this Ostend Spirit film will be released. More images, music... It will become a better implementation of the now existing film.

  • Onze mooie Oostende lijn,

ja beste vrienden, die mocht er zijn.

In alle weer en met veel praal,

bracht ze ons steeds over 't kanaal.

    Herdenking aan de lijn Oostende-Dover-Folkstone-Ramsgate.

  • What a great job you did on this video. I loved it. I even love your choice of music. Thanks for taking the time to show us what the journey looks like from your perspective. I live in Ramsgate and although I have never taken the ferry to Oostend I see the boats every day and the Primrose has always been my favorite.

  • I can enjoy this. Just spend a few hours

at sea. It is a must for everyone. Ostend and Ramsgate have more to offer than we think. Speed is not a trump. Let euroferries where they are and have a look in Ostend or Ramsgate.

  • Magnifique video!

  • Hi Kris, with the return of the old Prins Filip I will propably be taking this route more often than I used to. Greetz Michaël

  • Absolutly great! I often travelled or travel with the TEF Ferrys. They are my favorite ships on the channel. The old ships are in good condition service is very good and the crew very friendly. Its like a minicruise for me.

Two years ago i travelled with Norfolkline. It takes also more than 3 hours. With TEF you dont have to drive long by car.

For all Ferryfans and for those who are look for a relaxed crossing TEF is a MUST!

Thank you for this great video!

    Fred

  • With the Larkspur it takes you approximately 4.5 hours. But with the ships you see in the movie it takes you

less than 4 hours. But you're right, we can do nothing against Calais-Dover. But Ostend does it verry well. We have still a few ships who are sailing for more than 35 years from and to Ostend. I haven't seen that before in other ports. But I'm just glad that you not take the "channel tunnel". For me it is just the price-quality which is important and enjoy the sea.

  • I did the return trip a few weeks ago, and it took 4 or 4.5 hours each way.

Ostend to calais is 83km, so driving at the speed limit of 130Kmh takes less than 1 hour.

If you turn up at Calais or Dover port 30 minutes before the ferry, you will always be let on, in my experience.

So overall it makes the Calais route 2 hours faster.

But saying that, the Ostend to Ramsgate ferry is more relaxing- less driving.

You can lie down on the seats and get some sleep

I am a regular channel commuter
