  • Actually, the Subaru Impreza doesn't add extra weight for its AWD system. Subarus AWD system is lighter than you think because it is designed from the ground-up to be AWD. Most other AWD systems on the road use add-on components to adapt the non-AWD drive-trains - not Subaru. I recommend you go out and drive one - there is an exceptional difference in handling, feel and performance which is as apparent in the base model as it is in the high-powered models. Mileage is 20/26, not too good.

  • SUBARU ALL THE WAY!! The Impreza hatch is my top choice for my next car. I might get the Outback version of the model cause it looks cool with 2 colors on the body and bumpers, heated seats, cool styling, powerful nautrally-aspirated engine [BOXER], good trunk space for long trips, and best of all, Subaru's AWD system ready to tackle snow, rain, and even tough terrain. When I get one, I wanna do snow and rain drifting when I get a chance to.

  • great review man ,only missing rear seat comments/room

  • so, i can get a base model WRX for about 25k or i can get a legacy for about 25k? why they hell would anyone buy a legacy for that much if the wrx has better performance and the impreza is cheaper?

  • @paterson2311 I know my 2011 2.5i has an idiot light, but the WRX and STi have actual gauges.

  • @skimaniac05 oh thanks a bunch! do you know if the 2011-2012 models have an actual gauge and not a idiot light?

  • I'm 6 feet tall and i find the amount of room in the front to be perfectly fine. However, because my impreza is a manual i tend to have the seat a little closer than if i had an auto.

Also, to calm people's complaints about fuel economy, I'm getting about 26 MPG average and the engine is barely broken in. For a car with AWD its pretty good, and if it was smaller than a 2.5 it would probably be in the 30s

  • @paterson2311 There is not, there's an idiot light instead that says whether the engine is cold or hot.

  • is there an engine temp gauge in the dash?

  • I see some people are referencing the fuel economy. My 2011 outback sport trim with heavier 17s and roof rack in manual tranny is pulling about 28.5 MPG highway. The in dash AVG MPG gauge has read a best of 30.3 mpg and it's typically 1-2 mpg off.

All in all, I'm very pleased.

  • @DCism Hey man, when I get my license and job, I might work towards getting a base Impreza 2.5i. And hatch as well!!!

  • @catfish4281 look for a video on the subaru awd vs the crv's the crv is NOT full time 4wd, it senses slip and engages the rear wheels but the center diff isnt a limited slip or electronically controlled limited slip, so whatever wheels can spin, spin, the subaru has a Electronic controlled transfercase/center diff
