Ever wonder why there is so much confusion in Christian churches? Even some of our Israelite congregations are having schisms and power struggles... and it is because they are still following the Paulianity/Christianity church blueprint.

Paul appoints church leaders and defends his appointments using a reference to Psalms 68:18 in Ephesians 4.

Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

KJV - Greek Septuagint
Psa 68:17 The chariots of God [are] twenty thousand, [even] thousands of angels: the Lord [is] among them, [as in] Sinai, in the holy [place].

Psa 68:18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, [for] the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell [among them].

The words in [brackets] were added by translators.

This verse reads a bit differently in the Tanahk - Hebrew scriptures

Psa 68:18 -19

18 God's chariots are myriads upon myriad, thousands upon thousands; YHWH is among them as in Sinai in holiness.
You went up to the heights (Mt. Sinai), having taken captives, having received tribute of men, even of those who rebel against YHWH God's abiding there.

It is a fact that Paul misquoted the scripture to prove his appointments of church leaders. For starters, he changes the word RECEIVED to GAVE. As the original scripture in Psalms is ambiguous as to whether the gifts were received FROM men or FOR men we have to dig deeper to get to the truth.

This Psalm is a reference to an ACTUAL occurrence in Exodus. Here we can see what ACTUALLY happened and surmise once and for all if Paul's appointment of these leaders is Justified in the Scriptures or not.

Exd 25:1 And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying,
Exd 25:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering (gift).
Exd 25:3 And this [is] the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,
Exd 25:4 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' [hair],
Exd 25:5 And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,
Exd 25:6 Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,
Exd 25:7 Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.
Exd 25:8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
Exd 25:9 According to all that I shew thee, [after] the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make [it].
Exd 25:10 And they shall make an ark [of] shittim wood: two cubits and a half [shall be] the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

This passage speaks of the same subject Psalms 68 speaks of. YHWH ascends Mt. Sinai after taking the captive Israelites out of Egypt and putting them under the covenant. *taking captivity captive* He then receives gifts from them so they can build an ark. The ark is built so that His glory can dwell among them and not just on Mt. Sinai.

Paul's premise is hereby rejected. If not for the simple fact that
1. YHWH would not have any one receive "spiritual gifts" from to give to men. There is none higher than He.
2. The passage he quoted does not support his statement. YHWH RECEIVED gifts to build an ark so that He could dwell among them. Paul says YHWH GAVE gifts TO men based on that scripture.
3. The Messiah expressly forbode the control of His followers by any man on earth. While there were ELDERS (those walking in The Way for a longer period of time), Yahushua forbade the coveting of titles like Leader, Master, Rabbi etc.

Mat 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, [even] Christ; and all ye are brethren.
Mat 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, [even] Christ.
Mat 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

  • who wrote the book come out of her, my people you refer to

  • While it is in Revelations (author unknown)... the book seems to be an amalgamation of prophecies by the "OT" prophets. For example that saying "come out of her is referenced albeit in slightly different wording here:

Isa 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean [thing]; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

  • I say "author unknown" because the beginning seems to have been written by John... but there are sections in it that seem to come from other sources.

  • The problem is that man has taken these gifts to be "offices" with "authority" when actuality they are just gifts.

  • Achki keep bringing the truth, great video.

  • @bloodbought09 it doesn't take a "rabbi" or teacher to point out things that are simply true. You are correct... I am no shepherd... for there is only ONE... and his name was not Paul... whom you blindly defend and follow. Hypocrisy, is pretending to be a follower of Yahoshua... whom you errantly call "Jesus"... and follow a man who taught completely opposite Him... and as such the hypocrite here is you.

  • @bloodbought09 how typically unoriginal. Let me simply Point out the FACT that anyone can go in their Bible and SEE that what is stated in this video is true... unlike the dogmatic rhetoric you have so eagerly provided above.

If you are truly commended by the Father... you should then embrace things that are true... instead of promoting doctrines that are not.

I have no commendation to give... but if you are an evangelist... you should consider what "gospel" you are preaching.

  • Thanks for posting this video. I especially liked the last part about teachers and Rabbis. If its true that the manuscripts of Paul's letters can only be dated to the late 300s AD....then a case can be made that Ephesians 4:11 is the RomCathChurEmpire's attempt to list the offices of their new religion, including teachers/rabbis. I am astounded at how many people must have been and still are deceived...including myself until just a few days ago.

  • whats this song called?

  • please read roman's 3.7 in context paul is putting forward different hypotheitcal arguments in that passage and then refutesit
