Amazing Interview captured in gharailu backdrop . ustad talks about his meeting with Ustad Allah Diya khan, Qadir Shaggan sings bhairon bandish and ends with Malkauns tarana
of course now there is some dissposable income for people to invest in CDs and on music concerts! Youngsters willingly learn dhrupad and khayal singing! Even some revival of old gharans like Agra and Gwalior Gharana is eveident!! Kirana and Jaipur Gharana are thriving! Gharanas like Vishnupur are dead thanks to commies of waste Bengal! Bhatiali style is still thriving!
I heard Shaggan sahib long time ago at a friends house on Video from PTV and i am pleased to see this preserved on You tube
such brilliant voice control and evidence of Riaz, it is a shame that these artists never got the exposure they deserved in pakistan! The partition and islamic theocracy of pakistan was the death knell for classical music! had Bade Ghulam ali Khan sahib not re migrated to India he too would have starved to death like Rasoolan bai Apparently did!
To certain extant Indian film fraternity kept the classical music alive during the difficult transitional years!
