She is the one that put her kids in danger by jaywalking how dumb can you be. It's a big busy street. Duhhhh. Cross at the light like the law saids.

The death of her child seems to me to be enough punishment. If you have to throw her in jail for a few months at the most, but come on now one of her kids died

I think the mother deserves a punishment, but the death of one child should be enough to teach her a lesson. If she crosses a road with her two kids and gets one of them killed, she is a terrible, irresponsible mother - end of discussion. Even if the guy was driving way too fast, was drunk, stoned and blind, you still have to make sure it is safe to cross the road, especially in the dark when oncoming traffic has very little time to react.
