Domingo cannot be compared to Vickers in any stretch of the imagination. Period. Vickers was more the musician and had the right voice placement for the many roles he sang. He never took on a role his voice was not suited for.

Amazing. Opera doesn't get much better than this. Two of the greatest voices riding the winds. (But OMG, those tights!).

Domingo is terrific but I prefer the Vickers/ Macneil version. Milnes just can't keep up with big Mac.
