@1111UltraViolet1111 you are right, not to discount in any way the Son's sacrifice of his own life, but the Father made the first and hardest sacrifice when he gave his only begotten Son-who is the apple of the Father's eye. do you know a father who would not prefer to give their own lives for the sake of their only begotten son? what love, what sacrifice the Father indeed has extended to us, that not only when we were yet sinners, he gave us Christ his Son to die for us.

Great and interesting sermon. Joh 14:7

great story just remember yahushua is the son of Yahweh. He said so himself. He never his self ever claimed to be God even though he accepted worship.

Still some who think they need to earn their way to the Father

@bluesmann8 if you read Mr.MacArthur's book on this parable u will understand better why it really ends like that. Even though Jesus made no mention of the ending that's basically what happened. I would explain, but u think it's better to get the book. It's an amazing read!

He is drawing an analogy between God's attitude towards man, and man's attitude towards God. The purpose of the dramatic emphasis is to drive the point home...to make it more evident/obvious.
The analogy of grace is correct but JM alludes that the father sacrificed himself [in the teaching] and says the "father came down to take our shame" [in the end prayer]. Christ THE SON sacrificed himself and took our shame - not the father.

@1111UltraViolet1111 Good point, thanks for noticing. I'll have to go back and listen, it's been a while. I'm sure that's likely not what he was meaning to say, but you are correct in that a proper understanding of the Trinity is critical. God Bless.
