Cosplay 101- Choosing a Cosplay

The first of a series of Cosplay tutorial videos. This one is a sort of "first step" advice video on how WE choose which cosplays to do. All of the views expressed in this video are strictly the opinions of the individual members of FDP. We each gave advice according to our individual circumstances.

@6pathsofPainxx Just go for it. You should not care what they think since they refuse to understand how much passion you have for cosplay. They should not treat you like a child and tell you how stupid cosplay is. That's like poisoning the mind of a child in my opinion. It's just wrong. Just stand up to them and tell them how much you love it. If they refuse to understand, just DO IT. Don't let them control/change your interests and love for certain things. Stay strong :)

@ulquihime4 You don't need to make your skin lighter. Cosplay is not all about having the exact skin color as the character you wanna be. It's all about expressing your love for it. That's one of the issues of cosplay. Some people care too much about skin color but it doesn't matter. I'm black but it doesn't bother me. I might wanna cosplay as Miku one day :D Just go for it and express your love for the character and yourself :)

I wanna be Itachi from naruto but im REALLY short and im darker skined lets just say sooo....... WUT SHOULD I DO i can really look like him but da only problem is i dont have sharingan contacts and as mentioned before im darker skined the Itachi my skin is kinda like a kinda darkish caramell so I NEED UR HELP plz ;)

Well I prefer cosplaying boys cuz I can pull it off (thank God). But I'd have to wear loose fitting shirts, not really loose. I do Sasuke Uchiha and L! (Cuz the wigs look alike so I bought one, I used a loose White shirt and my dad's jeans and I had to buy the Sasuke costume in the end...) Only problem with me is that I'm slightly darker skinned, so every cosplay I would do would look slightly weird! But I still love it!

umm for me i do deidara but i need to wear contacts if i do or if i cosplay tobi from the akatsuki aswell i would also need contacts if i were to do karin from nauto what length shood i get the wig to be? also for her costume what would u recommend?

What if your on the a little heavier than heavy side (say, five foot six, 200 pounds) but you have an extremely defined waist. Im talking dolly parton defined, with kim k proportions, and a little bit of a tummy, is it ok to do Luka (vocaloid) or Hinata (naruto)? Because I carry my weight in my chest, and I cant really think of anyone to cosplay as because every anime im aware of involve fairly small chested girls.

I agree i sometimes cosplay as characters that arnt particullary my favorite. Like in death Note My favorite character is L but i love to cosplay as Light even though i hate him. It is fun to be evil XD

I agree with this video! I think that peope have to wear the cosplay they want but sometimes they have to be careful with that.I saw on youtube some videos that are called "the worst cosplay" and sometimes they get me angry because they judge fat people (always) and I look they´re cosplays and I see that They do a really hard work with the cosplay....and is awesome sometiemes how they do them....I think that we don´t have to judge cosplays like that. It´s only for have a good time and enjoy
