Singapore Airlines B777-300 arriving SIN over Batam & Johore

Flight from Jakarta arrives Singapore from SW direction but turns around in Malaysian airspace to land Changi airport from the NE direction. From the start, the video captures Batam island Indonesia, with the Singapore coastline showing (1min00') at the top right-hand screen corner. From 1min36' we enter the south-eastern tip of West Malaysia, at the apex is Pengerang town (famous for lobsters and seafood dinner). The island above the apex is part of Singapore. At 2min45' we fly over a highway construction zone amidst the palm oil plantations in Johore state. From 3min20' we leave Malaysian airspace and line up with runway 20C before landing. Upon touch down, the Trent engine opens for reverse thrust.

Yes, we were flying over Batam, just 20km from Singapore. In fact, domestic flights from Jakarta do land on Batam airport. Notice the amount of industrialisation (or deforestration) going on the island?
