Shooting a modified F.A.S.T. drill from 5 yards on an IDPA target, with an M&P 9 Pro, Comp-tac holster and mag pouches. This was shot at the end of a training session.
NOTE: The actual FAST drill uses a 3x5 card for the head target and is shot from 7 yards.
FAST drill by www.pistol-training.com
Range: 7 yards
Target: 3×5 card (head), 8″ plate (body)
Start position: weapon concealed or in duty condition with all holster retention devices active; shooter facing downrange in relaxed stance with arms down at sides
Rounds fired: 6
Drill begins from the holster, pistol loaded with exactly two rounds. On the buzzer: 1. draw
2. fire two rounds at the 3×5 box
3. perform a slidelock reload
4. fire four rounds at the 8″ circle
The actual FAST drill requires shooting the 2 head shots into a 3x5 target area (3x5 card, generally) and it's conducted at 7 yards. Good effort, but try the actual drill and see how it goes.
