Delta - c64 - 1987

This video shows some of the highlights (and lowlights!) of Delta on the c64. Music is of course the Delta title theme by Rob Hubbard, which, like the in-game track, is heavily inspired by Philip Glass's music from Koyaanisqatsi.

Note: This video doesn't show anything from the last three stages cos I didn't get that far.

'87 was a great year for the ol Commodore 64. Delta, Wizball, Mega Apocalypse, Defender of The Crown, The Last Ninja and em...all the other fine titles i can't remember, ha ha.

I still have my c64 (got it in 2007) luckily I went into my attic and saw a box load of my tapes for it ahhhh good times. But I rather play my Atari so I'm selling my c64 for like a buck ..... the tape rolls are all popped out and the breadbox on my c64 are melted off from the weird attic bugs.... So yeah now it's just memory's....:( all hail our commadore 64 and that really Fukking long loading screen

Good old Delta...the game we used to run not because its gameplay (nigh impossible to beat) but just to hear its music. Fantastic video, thank you!

I'm with you there. Today they make 99,9% of games exactly the same as the other 99.9% that went before them just with ddifferent visuals and a similar but almost the same crap orchestral type sound track....

They're not all rubbish these days but so much is just an awful rehash of the same old thing over and over again,

Someone should remake shadowfire. i've always thought this. Just without turning it into a 3rd person shooter with a 1% collect the items and power up rpg element.

The worst of the sanxion/delta/armalyte threesome. But still a really cool and good looking game at the time. Most thalamus games where great. Armalyte to this day remains one of my favourite shooters of all time. That and turrican... As i recall amiga and atari st happened shortly after and the 64 just faded out. I remember hearing star glider on an amiga and thinking WOW! I had to have one. These days i know better. A 15 second sample just stinks of lazy as opposed to impressive. Sid audio <3
