@kofipat1 I'm sure he will be great like Michael Jackson, but what made Jackson great was he was an amazing entertainer, Kanye is too, but being entertaining isn't necessarily because your music is technically great. There are movies that are entertaining (Transfomers, Avatar, Twilight) and fir their nitch well, but are not technically impressive in direction or story, but they do what they do well. Kanye sells himself more than anything, and does it well, it's a great Hustle.

@ATENakaATON I believe Genius is based off of opinion, for example Karl Langerfield, Salvador Dali and even Jim Morrison are all seen as Genius but this is not official. Kanye is the same, in my eyes and many others he is a artistic Genius but in yours and also alot of others he isn't. I respect your argument you seem like a very intelligent person with a intresting philosophy on Kanye West. But I've listened to and seen things in Kanye that greats like Michael Jackson had...
-
@ATENakaATON I don't condemn him but as a matter of fact, he is not musically talented to the level of being a genius, he is sub par, most hip hop producers are. General music intelligence has taken a gradual decline over time to the point people who can't play instruments are considered musically talented because of contrast. I think he's an artist and a great hustler but he's also a shallow moron who doesn't understand music, like most of Hip Hop it's about the hustle.
-
@kofipat1 Yes he does contrast which makes him a breathe of fresh air, though I wouldn't exactly say he doesn't talk about women, cars and money, also being different does not mean intelligent. It's easy to sound different when your sampling, if he was doing more than augmenting other peoples work for rap and actually playing instruments I'd give him a nod for musical ability, but he can't, he has none. Kanye West is far from sincere and you probably don't know what special means.

@ATENakaATON Its baffling I cannot understand why you condemn his so much Every album whether its 808 & Heartbreak or The College Dropout was iconic. Albums that were different In a time where rappers would rather talk about Money, Cars and Women. Kanye West creates something of complete contrast 4 out of 4 of his rap albums have won best rap album at the grammys Rather than sending out a message. Kanye West believes sincerty is the key to great music If he isnt special then i dont know what is

@kofipat1 He's a great hustler, he has built an incredible image, it's prefect for the times, that I'll give him, but musically I give him nothing, there's nothing special about his music or message, it's his presentation. We have to remember culture is built on faith, faith is blind, faith is stupidity, and if your smart enough you can hustle people's faith.
-
@ATENakaATON If you take a look at his career, what he has done in only 9 years. He is one of the most iconic men in music... ever, symbolising a generation. I never said he was a genuis through his sampling but with that said he has created some of the most remarkable instrumentals using a drum machine, I respect and understand your view it makes alot of sense but doing in 9 years what its taken artist like Boy George, Rick James and even Brittany Spears a career is Genius.
-
@hashpijp your comment should be number one, but people are just sheep, they know nothing about music they just have faith in money and since Kanye has lots of money and gets a lot of limelight because a lot of money can be made off him, because he has money, he must have talent, they don't actually know anything about music, for the most part
-
@kofipat1 West is not a musical genius, sampling is a regression in the intelligence of (general) music, I'm not saying people shouldn't like him, it's not my place to tell anyone what to feel or be, but his music and fans are dumbed down to a point they think when you have to sample what others have created because it's too complex for you to do your still a musical genius. They have no understanding of music and don't what to which in of itself is disrespectful to those they sample.
-
@UltraEloy Done, still think he's shit.
KanYe is the most misunderstood artist of our generation... He is perceived as an asshole by media. He has what most of us don't have. He speaks his mind whether it is right or wrong. Most of us lack the self-confidence to speak how we feel. I guess its hard to be a leader than a follower but Americans fall under the follower category... If you're the only person to believe in what you believe then you might as well voice that opinion

What I don't understand is, why are people coming and setting aside 5 minutes of their valuable time to watch and comment on an interview of a person they don't like? I guess it just goes to show that their time, along with their comments, aren't valuable.
