Has everyone forgotten that (at least here in the United States) Government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed? That means that We, The People, are the ultimate authority. We have been brainwashed into believing that we are mere servants to almighty Government. It is Government who serves The People. Without us, they are nothing. Unfortunately there are fewer people educated enough to know this. Read your Constitution! Know your Rights! Speak up or be spoken for.

This is about Voluntaryism. This is the wave of the future. The future where voluntary relationships are the norm and forced rule by governments is a thing of the past.

What you guys describe is a bane of democracy. Whether you have everyone or just a representative group (as it is with current voting turnouts), you really get more or less the same effect. Its call statistical representation and is used for all kinds of decisions.

I guess democracy is really not the solution. Of course neither socialism, communism nor any form of government we have had until now. What is really needed is a new way of organization, wonder what role the internet will have in it.

@AcidCritic:
What democracy are you refering to? If it's the United States, we are (at least on paper) a Constitutional Representitive Republic, not a democracy. A democracy is direct majority rule, mob rule.

Yes, the US is a democracy with "mob rule". It is officially called "Representative Democracy". You need to understand what you are talking about before correcting people with something you read and really didn't understand. (the "We the people" comes from the democratic concept)

I understand quite clear the distinction between what America was founded upon versus what we have become at present. As far as the founding principals go, America is a Constitutional Representitive Republic. In practice, however, we have clearly become a democracy. My point was for Citizens to take a stand against this, to reclaim our place of power, and to restore America to its Republic.
