Glad you liked the video! In the spirit of the original TRON (a film both Cass and I dearly adore) all of the 3D animation code used to make this short was hand written, on the order of about 10,000 lines of code for the complete scene including model definitions and motion sequences.

The live action was filmed against a green screen, the original scenes from the film were analysed on a frame by frame basis to get the motion just right then the 3D and live action were composited in Premier.
