Seventieth video. I always feel a little uncomfortable talking about original compositions, but here goes. As the title implies, this was made in AWPWR's NES Soundfont, which is heavily influenced by the beeps and boops of the old Nintendo systems and Game Boy. The audio is entirely my invention, and the video was recorded by IroncladPhazon and also Friedfischer. As for the title of this piece -- well, it doesn't really have one, but I've been calling it "Commitment" as a sardonic joke. Please don't suggest a title in the comments section, but do comment. I love getting comments and will always read them.

This piece combines two of my favorite superfluous elements of music -- dissonance and irregular meter. Whether or not I did a good job is your judgment to make. Not quite as melodious as my other themes, the recurring pattern is instead rather harsh and aggressive. The middle section is somewhat more tranquil.

You may notice that the title says "Original 6". There is a fifth piece that I may or may not finish, but I have had a hard time when working on it and am not wholly satisfied with the results. You may also notice that the text files at the beginning are 19, 17, and 18 rather than 1 and 2. This is because I entirely scrapped what would have been the intro to the piece and made a new one at the end. Hopefully the newer intro fits the piece better. I kept the text files for the discarded intro -- perhaps they will lead to another piece in the future. In any case, I hope you enjoy "A brianLED NES Original Composition"

  • Awesome job, and it would go perfectly if it were in an old video game! After listening to your previous 69 videos, I knew you were ready for original compositions. Boy, was I right or what!? Awesome as always!

  • Thanks for the views and compliment; glad you enjoy my work. :)

  • Do you have a download link for this soundfont?

  • Search Youtube for "AWPWR NES soundfont." I'm sure you'll find it, and that video does have a download link.

  • I don't think the NES would have been able to play this, but this is awesome!

I love the beginning with the unclear muddy noises that create a dark atmosphere. Then, it pick up greatly in intensity with weird sounding chords and dissonant melodes. I really enjoyed the dynamics extra you have put. A perfect match for a chaotic boss battle.

My music theory isn't really good, but that doesn't stop me from appreciating every detail put in this : incredible work! Definitly 5* and a favorite.

  • Music theory? I never had a class in my life! Seriously.

Anyway, thanks for the insightful summary and compliment. ^_^

  • After thinking it over and listening to this composition again, I've decided that I do like it. That I made a bit of a hasty judgement on it. Sorry, brianLED!

  • Ahh, another marvelous composition, Brian! I love the diversity in this one. My most favorite part in this one would have to be the ending. :-D 5/5

  • I totally agree.

  • This! this will be the title screen music for doom on NES!

  • Sounds like a fire temple in zelda
