Dorset architect Chris Farmer reveals his latest design in Bridport. Chris describes the project -

"Privacy and sunlight directed the program of this project. It was important for the client to have a lightweight , column free structure that allowed the maximum levels of natural light, whilst shielding internal activities from neighboring properties. This resulted in a parametrically controlled skin enabling a change of porosity along its length."

He continues

"The structural skin is closed toward the house, opening along its length toward the office which demanded the highest levels of natural light. The form of the extension was driven by the annual sunpath, enabling an awkward NW facing site to capture as much southern light as
possible."
