  • What on earth was the whole "Have we been here before, or... are we yet to come?" thing about?

    Good Trailer!

  • Thanks!

It's from the end of the previous story where the Doctor is supposed to take Sarah to the seaside but they instead land in Antarctica, which they visited earlier in the story.

  • Thanks, but that STILL dosent explain it!! Why did they say that?!?!

  • It's just a bad joke about time travel(whether they've landed before their last visit took place or in the future)... best not to analyse it too deeply!

  • Sarah is so pretty!!!

  • That episode ending with Sarah-Jane and the beach ball is one of my favorites. It's a bit of a cheesy joke but it still cracks me up! LOL!

  • Exactly!

  • @fluffysbro Yes, the first few seconds is the end of "The Seeds of Doom," which opened with The Doctor & Sarah intending to go on a holiday, but instead landed in the Antarctic. At the end of the story, they once again attempt to land on a sunny, warm beach, but the Doctor forgets to change the TARDIS time/space coordinates, thus they landed where the story began. The question then applies: Have we been here before, or are we yet to come?

  • This was my favourite episode of the Tom Baker and Lis Sladen years... I love it :) and its coming out on DVD soon!

  • yes, it was...

  • 00:05

Do you know how cold it is there? And Sarah was wearing a swim suit.

Man, I'll bet her nipples were like stone.

    (Crass comment, I know)

  • Masque of mandragora has the voice of Peter Tuddenham (Zen, Orac) in it.

  • One of the best Tom Baker stories in my oppinion, but then there are many of them

  • My goodness - you're VERY good at this Next Time lark - I've watched a few of yours, and they all maintain this high standard. They're pacy, intriguing and make narrative sense, without cherry-picking every single highpoint in the story. God work!

  • Superb trailer, unlike so many others this one actually gives a rough idea of the story in a clear way in addition to teasing with the usual exciting clips. Lastly it doesn't spoil the plot or any of the cliffhangers. So it gets a 10 out of 10. =)

  • Masque of Mandragora is another great story that would probably rank as the best serial in almost any other Who season. But, it was transmitted during an incredible run of DrWho masterpieces in Seasons 12, 13 and 14, and is often overlooked. That is a mistake as MoM is practically a masterpiece itself, being one of the most visually striking serials in Who history. MoM is a finer quality serial than many of the Who serials from later seasons that usually make the "10 Best" list.
