In Tim Cook's first 16 months as Apple's CEO, he has had little to say to the media outside of product announcements — that is, until this week. In recent interviews with Bloomberg Businessweek and NBC's Rock Center, Tim Cook speaks out about his role as CEO, the legacy of Steve Jobs, Apple's interest in the television market, and the return of Apple manufacturing to the United States.
On this week's Vergecast, Josh, Nilay, and Paul read between the lines of these recent interviews and discuss the current state and future direction of Apple under Tim Cook.

Steve Jobs was certainly a great CEO, but I wouldn't really call him a visionary. Everything he did was already thought up and a lot of people in the tech world new of the possibilities. He just brought it all together and showed it to the general public in a really good light with his great enthusiasm. Mostly he was just very inspiring and held everyone to a really high standard. I don't think Tim Cook will be able to uphold the ridiculous standards that Steve Jobs actually delivered on.
