  • I was one of the first Navy on "The Hill" I met my wife there (Sumiko) Yoko. We were married and had 38 wonderful years together.

She passed away last year. Misawa gave her to me and I will never ever forget the wonderful people there, Japanese and American

    God Bless you all!

  • Thanks so much for your comment! I am really honored that many people have found that it reminds them of their time there at Misawa. I think I felt more at home there with all of the great people then I had felt in awhile. Take care and thanks again!

  • I was stationed at Misawa fromf 1987-92...worked on Security Hill. Miss it! Also miss the great beer & food...especially the cheeze gyozas!

  • When the USAFSS, 6989th RSM, transferred me from Misawa. I left my best friends in Hachinohe, my best years, a beautiful girl, with hair this long - my halting Japanese was barely okay. We never even held hands - You don't touch good girls, and I loved her desperately. Perhaps hard to imagine doing the honorable thing and not touching. But that's my true story. I discovered, too late, my lifelong losses. Thanks for sharing your memories, evoking memories of Aiko. My lost love.

  • I knew some of the same people you did, Graff and Juarez. They worked in the phone shop. I was there Nov 2008- Feb 2011 I am on the sideline now as well.

  • love the video! i was in misawa 77-89. there's something about being overseas. people understand moving-it's easier to form friendships because people are open to the newbie. and, because there is no family, your friends become your family. i will always keep my life in misawa in my heart and in my memories. doesn't a big bowl of miso ramen sound good?!

  • @rhondarmoore I left there in 1994 in my Junior year of High School, spent 3 years- good times

  • @b62beers Do you remember an old lady that had a restaurant off base....forgot the name. We called her Mama Lake, she always had great yakisoba.

    I was in Misawa from 88-92, 432CRS.

  • @BlueMacGyver - my oldest son was born there in '94. Can't wait to have a chance to visit, someday.

  • @b62beers

CHEESE GYOZAS! Oh my God, they sound soo good right now! I used to love "Champions" in AP Alley!

  • Misawa held some of the best times I've ever had. I spent 5 years there from 89-94. A wonderful experience that I will always hold dear to me!

  • Great video hope to enlist soon i am only 17 any advice and sorry to say but the song is kinda to sad well at least to me lol. nonetheless best wishes
