This video is of the unboxing of the live rock that I ordered. There is 40 lbs of Cherry Primo Deco and 30lbs of Buna Ultra rock. However; Live Rock N Reef sent me 47lbs of the Buna Rock.
The Primo rock has amazing growth and corals attached. The Buna Rock showed some great signs of growth also.

  • Hey adjusterfrank, Did this come to the airport or your door.or facility...also how long did it take from order to opening? I am asking due to your comments on the smell of it? 1 more if you don't mind.. what was the total cost of the goods? Thanks.

  • @Glephniven The LR was shipped overnight to the Delta cargo terminal and I picked it up there. When you order from Live Rock N Reef, they get the rocks from the Gulf, fly them to Utah and then to the end consumer. So, the rocks have been out of the water for some time. I don't remember the exact cost but if you go to the site, it was the retail cost for the rock. The Buna rock comes from the Caribbean.

  • Hey bud, im just getting into the hobby and was wondering what did u rinse off the cherry primo with, RO/DI water or saltwater? I have not yet cycled my tank. So i dont hv established saltwater. Also Is it good to rinse it or just leave it as is and put in in the tank?

  • @illaddictmrm Thanks for watching and commenting. To answer, I made some saltwater with RO/DI water, about 5 gallons or so. Then, I dipped the rocks in the bucket just to get the loose debris off. Right into the tank after that. With the Promo Deco and the Buna Rock, my tank cycled in about 12 days. This might not be the same for everyone. Just test the water every few days to see where you are at. Hope all goes well. I look forward to videos of your build.

  • @karlek110188 Well... I put the rock in my system with the Gulf Rock "Primo Deco" So... I would not know if it was cured or not. I never really checked. Even if the rock was "fully cured" it still had to go from Utah to your house. So... I imagine that there would be a small amount of die off. How old is the cycle? What is the filtration system?

  • @adjusterfrank yes but says that this rock is fully cured!

  • @karlek110188 Continued... Also, It really depends on the filter system that you are using. The nitrites will need to decrease on their own and turn into the Nitrates to complete the cycle. I could not get my Nitrates down below 5ppm until the last couple of weeks. Now... all is at zero. In any case, if it were me, I would wait for the cycle to continue on its own for a while. The Buna rock is out of the water for a very long time from the ocean to you. The curing might take a bit of time.

  • @karlek110188 I thought that your system was quite new? My Ultra Buna rock is amazing. The water change question will get you many different answers. some do and some don't. I think that you should keep an eye on the cycle and let it run its course. I think that I did a water change about 1 month in. My system cycled in 5 days. But, I knew this cuz I was checking the water every day to see where I stood. I think that the dye off is very beneficial for the system. JMO.

  • did you have any problem with your buna rock man? like I think my rock is not fully cured man.,I don't know if i should do a 25% water change..nirites still very high and it won't decrease...

  • Ok thxs I might order from them now
