I remember visiting Brahm's grave at the Zentralfriedhof in Vienna.s Simmering district on a beautiful sunlit evening in 2005. He was in the company of Beethoven, Schubert and Johann Strauss and this music captures the serenity and nobility of that evening.

I really don't think I've heard this gorgeously moving piece played better anywhere. Mr Ion plays all the special nuances beautifully, paces the piece perfectly, and never fails to get that beautiful coloration that Brahms put into his piano music. Stumbling onto this recording was a great experience!

This is just a good performance. This is lovely and comfortable, and also makes Brahms a more close existence to me than before. I like this most.
