I've only read the Widows of East Wick, and already he strikes me as an experienced masterful writer, he describes scenes and thoughts from an exquisite point. I picked up the book in the same year he passed away, 2009, I'm extremely devastated.

What a wonderful storyteller and from all I've heard, a wonderful man. Thank you, for everything from "A&P" to "Couples" to all the stories I look forward to reading, Mr. Updike. R.I.P.
