  • Good recording, shame about the inaccurate picture....

  • @10Amuffett

I searched the internet for the picture of a Chalumeau

If it is wrong it's not my fault :-)

  • @knightfranken Gah! I'm sorry. I agree with you and when I tried to click positive I clicked wrong. :(

  • @theprof1958 No I know don't worry. I recently submitted an essay on this specific concerto as part of my music degree from the university of York so I just got a bit carried away. But yes the picture you found is a modern chalumeau that was made for folk whistle players as an instrument they could easily play. However an actual chalumeau as a concerto instrument would have looked like a recorder with a mouthpiece with 2 keys and would only have a range of 12th

  • So beautiful, it makes me want to learn to play one!

  • This is a lovely sound from the chalumeau. I have heard other uploads where the sound has been pretty rough on the ears. This is quite refined, sweet and in tune. BRIAN

  • @jerchiury No, there is ornament/group of notes going down that are hard to play so quickly.

  • what happened at 0:50? gliss?

  • Thanks for the upload, a lovely piece and so well performed! <3

  • so sweet...
