A great clip from a great, great movie. No spoiler alert necessary. This scene is proof why everybody who discovers this movie watches it a ton of times. And why everybody else should own a copy of this movie for themselves. You can watch Mad Dog And Glory it over and over and still love it every time. It hardly ever makes any "greatest" or "top" lists, but it's one of those films you just love to watch. DeNiro is great as always, but as this clip reveals, Mad Dog And Glory is a movie that keeps giving you reasons to see it again. David Caruso shows up and proves what a great, great actor he is. It's all in the tone and inflection and more so, the words you don't hear. How toughness is all attitude and has very little to do with physical action. This scene barely involves DeNiro or the other main characters, but it's key to why this movie works so well. It sets up what DeNiro's character, Mad Dog, must eventually face. Credits to director John McNaughton for his expert staging and understanding how to bring the best out of a set of actors with hugely different styles. And, as always, none of this would be possible without a truly unique story and script by Richard Price, who created the surprises throughout the film and keeps every word true to the characters, the city and the story. It's simply fun to keep watching - time after time. If you love to watch movies again and again, you might want to check out the 191Movies website at http://www.191movies.com

  • Absolutely. The entire film is filled with great lines. I sometimes wonder why Mike Starr hasn't been in more movies.

  • It's one of his great roles...brings me back to nypd blue - that great year that he was in it!!

  • Ugh, I saw my same comment posted twice so I tried to delete one of them but both were deleted. Strange.

Anyway, thanks again! Great scene that I've been waiting for someone to post! :-)

  • THIS is the only reason I still care about David Caruso...I hate bullies.

  • I think this movie and scene set David Caruso up for NYPD Blue. He played an excellent tough cop. A total opposite to his character in "An Officer and a Gentleman".

  • David Caruso was born to play a cop.

  • @191MOVIES He's been in a lot of films...check out his filmography sometime. A very talented guy.

  • This movie should have been nominated for oscars. And if so, David Caruso should have won an award or nominated. The same goes for Robert De Niro. This movie should have won or been nominated for oscars

  • One of the best scenes ever. I never get tired of watching it.

  • I really like Mike Starr's line the best.

  • Good clip.
