I agree. Spyderco is having some very high end folders made in China, and Tawain as well these days. I have always frowned on knives made in China and Tawain for most of my knife buying history, however, many of the top name brands in knives are now having knives manufactured in these places, and they are producing some good stuff. It has changed my outlook regarding them.

@mkeulr China supply's tech, and weapons to all your enemies, they have an underground nuke stash that's larger then Russia and ours together. They promote country's like Iran and north Korea. They do cyber attacks. China artificially lowers there prices and currency in an attempt to hurt foreign industry, while limiting the export of rare earth's, that keep our prices higher. They treat their people like slave labor.

You mentioned China imprisoned its' people, however the U.S. has the largest prison population in the world. And we make our prison so nice that it doesn't even detour crime. 3 hots and a cot with weights and cable tv and no responsibility. I've been to Beijing, have you? That is a huge ass city but extremely clean, no trash on the ground, no homeless panhandling, and far less violent crime. So their gov is doing something right, also their economy is generating money instead of spending.

I work in the metals inspection business, and unless you actually test the steel, you can not trust the stamping (from anyone). Boeing had a recall on some bolts that were counterfeit from ....yup, you guessed it...China. Anyone who thinks they are getting the same quality from a China product should be waiting for their check from Nigeria...lol I have Chinese products, and some are hit or miss, but I don't kid myself to think they are all the same quality as US made stuff.

Actually, a better comparison would be Manix-Delica/Endura-Tenacious/­Persistance/Resilience/Ambitio­us. Byrd is a whole other class since it's a sub-cumpany, the economy folder series is made in China and they're well-made, as well from the same main company.
