WWII it was a defining moment in time during the 20th century when America came together to preserve our democratic way of life. Interviews include former NJ governor, Brendan T. Byrne a navigator with the Army Air Corp, Arthur Seltzer, a Jewish war veteran serving in the army during the battle of the bulge, Ovid DiFiore, a Signal Corp photographer who captured the image of Mccarthur and many others, and Gilmon Brooks a Buck Sgt. In the marines who saw the flag raise at Iwo Jima. These interviews are included along with others who worked on the home front and in different theaters of the war.
More than 37 million deaths have been estimated during WWII. The us lost more than 320 thousand soldiers, more than 15,000 were from NJ. Archival film and stills are included in NJ remembers WWII, and is produced & written by Lisa Bair Miller. Kent Manahan, senior anchor for NJN News is the narrator for the program. Janice Selinger is executive producer.
