Part 2 of a talk about sound, it's definition and requirments. I also talk about our perception of sight and smell. Are things really as they seem? Do our senses tell us the truth?

  • Thats a fantastic definition. These things are definitely observer dependent and since we (humans) defined the terms (sound, smell, sight) in the first place, I think we should get priority. The sensations that we perceive, fulfill the definition of the terms and ideas that we created and defined. but if a tree falls and a deer, or bee is there to hear it, i think the sensation is similar enough to qualify as "sound". The answer depends on the definitions that we have created and agree upon.

  • @eledsor17 Yes, it is sound because it is heard by the deer, or bee (do bees have ears?)

  • so if every thing would look like glass would we even see glass or would the beer and wine just float there lol

  • Actually, you wouldn't even see the beer and wine. :(
