A little tour of my garden veggies, growing here and there where space allowed, here in my Alabama backyard. You have to be a bit inventive when gardening in a small space, which is kind of fun. You can grow just about any garden veggie in a small space with a little imagination! A note of correction, the tomato I called German Queen is not a hybrid as I said, but an heirloom tomato. July09

  • Where are you located, planting zone? Interested in the ocra plant. Also, does your yard get a lot of sunlight? It's early morning, and I'm surprised you have cucumbers growing in a pot. It's nice to see vegetables growing in containers. It gives me idea with my small garden.

  • @egirly1 Located in south central Alabama, zone 8a. Only had a few okra plants growing but they produced nicely throughout the summer. Best if you harvest them when about 4 inches long..most tender then. The cukes did pretty well in the container, also, tho with a hot, dry summer had to keep on top of the watering.

  • Thanks, y'all. It may be small, but half the fun is seeing what works, the other half is in the harvest when it does! Happy gardening:)
