  • The backup systems only work for a short time. THEN WHAT? Why is it off the grid? Why is it venting steam? This is NOT normal... Having them shut down does not mean they are safe. After all, the Fukushima nuclear plants shut down 'safely' after the earthquakes in Japan,. then they melted down. They are still a nuclear volcano, contaminating the whole GLOBE with nuclear toxic material, spewing out 24 hours a day.

  • Why didn't we shut these down after Fukushima like the Germans did? Ask Barack Obama and his Economic Czar: Jeff Immelt : CEO of General Electric: these two buffoons have been globe trotting ever since SELLING MORE GE reactors to 3rd world countries. GE DESIGNED FUKUSHIMA DAICHI. To shut these down we need to shut down USG and restore democracy.

  • They take 3-5 years of water cooling to fully shut them down. even though you shut off the power it takes that long for them to fully cool down. This is happening all over and radiation levels are up all over and no one is talking about it. They have found it in our water, in the soil, in the air. All they do is raise the threat level and say it's still safe. They will never tell you till it's happening and even then they wont. It would cause panic and chaos. Time to smoke and chill

  • There are two distinguishable things:

    1. "unusual event" that means that nothing harmful is going on.

    2. someone who reports that level.

Fukushima reported level 3 right before the first explosion. But in fact, at this time it was already a level 5.

  • @straats Nobody can "shutdown" a nuclear reaction when power problems occur. Without electricity you can't handle a nuclear reactor. Its a selfdriven process. You cant level it, you cant turn it off. It needs lots of work and time to bring a nuclear reaction down to nil. And its very expensive as well. NPPs must be banned. They are here only for nuclear weapons anyway.

  • Tsunami never come to US nuclear plant, after the Earthquake disaster. Only the continental states may use nuclear power plants. It ought to be abolished in Japan...

  • If you want to know why it's venting steam take a look at my video on Surry Nuclear Power Plant....there sister plants and verry similar designes.

But Surry is verry porly managed, and Insbrook in Richmond is a pit of vipers!

  • Fukushima's systems worked and those reactors shut down too. To bad a "shut down" reactor still produces many millions of watts of decay heat and will explode on you if you don't cool it.
