@psychawareness The removal of Glass Steagall and its UK equivalent (the "big bang") sowed the seeds of the financial crisis. Even right wing newspapers such as the "Daily Telegraph" in the UK agree with this. It allowed risky investment banking on the back of ordinary people's savings knowing that the state would have to bail them out if it went wrong otherwise you would have massive civil unrest. We need a new Glass Steagall and a total separation of retail and investment.banking.

@Seedofwinter I think that most of that "quantitative easing" (printing money) was laundered by using it to buy billions of dollars worth of government bonds. I'm not sure how much if any went straight to banks. I think we BORROWED that fortune, to GIVE to the banks, so they could LEND it back to us at loan-shark rates. But I do certainly agree that Larry Kudrow is scumbag, spouting every non-defensible argument, and (naturally) making no attempt to defend them. HE is indefensible.

Kudrow is talking about "trickle-down economics," which we should all know by now does not work. It has NEVER worked! He speaks about how the bailouts will loosen up credit, and we know that never happened. He talks about the Middle Class desperately needing credit? The corporations have NOT shared OUR wealth, even in the form of credit.

Kudrow isn't telling you about the TRILLIONS of dollars the banks have gotten leading up to this crisis via secret printing in the Federal reserve, nor does he speak of the QE's.

Typical scumbag. Tie the rich into the fabric of the economy so that they can get a bailout when they fuck up, and but fuck the rest of us. We should pull ourselves up from our bootstraps and stop complaining.
