  • Serenaluce simply hates Jaroussky because his Italian isn't perfect. Jaroussky's pronunciation is the ONLY reason why Serena fills the Internet with her fanaticism, with the irrational speeches about "parodies of baroque" and "sweet, empty sounds". In case you haven't notice - Serena is the only one in the world who "has ears", so she feels forced to start a CRUSADE.

  • Can we shift this discussion to how great the flutist is?

  • @perles75 Oh,come on,please don't say that PJ's Italian is very good. Do you hate your bel parlar gentile that you refuse to hear that he just can't pronounce Italian sounds "e" which ALWAYS becomes "i"and "o" which is always "u"?Actually,if PJ's singing is appealing to you it will just forgive him"few mannerisms"But there's a difference when a singer tries but can't pronouce properly and when in PJ's case he just doesn't give a rat's ass and knows that he is paid ONLYfor his sweet empty trills!

  • I'm italian, and I can state that his italian is not perfect (I guess he will never get rid of those few mannerisms) but definitely very good; and he doesn't absolutely sound like someone who doesn't understand what is singing.

By the way, this is not the best rendition of this aria that I heard, even by the same couple Jaroussky-Spinozi. The one of the upcoming DVD is definitely superior.

  • @MrFpam Dear,I don't care who you are on YT.You can be Vivaldi himself! LOL But do you know anything about freedom of expression? Why is it OK to criticicize anybody else, say what is pop,but only not to touch the pretty cute head of your baby PJ?!Is it tabou?!There's NO artist in the world whom absolutely EVERYBODY loves! If you are a conductor yourself, some will admire you and some will say that what you do is a total crap.Artists are public figures.PJ with all PROMOTION needs to be defended?LOL

  • @serenaluce The previous comments were meant to be addressed to you (not back to myself)!

  • @MrFpam I have heard Jaroussky in person in concerts here, and like everyone else was most impressed. I am a trained musician/ conductor and have been attending concerts for over 50 years (including countertenors).

Why can't you just forget it and let other people enjoy Jaroussky? Arguing about personal taste is quite fruitless and pointless!

  • @serenaluce What extraordinary cheek to accuse me of demagogy after all your endless tirades against Jaroussky and anyone who tries to defend him. I am not italian although I speak a bit, but I do notice that italians are quite happy with Jaroussky's pronunciation. You are clutching at straws, desperately trying to find more negative tthings you can say about him. The method of reaching popularity is irrelevant, the point is that it doesn't necessarily negate quality! I have he

  • @MrFpam Oh,come on,what you say is just demagogy. At least decent Italian is a MUST in the operatic world.Street sellers of pies also speak several languages, and it's enough for understanding, but not enough for opera singer!Wunderlich never was that POPULAR as Pavarotti and Domingo who achieved the main POPULARITY by their POPULAR concerts pleasing the crowd and not opera roles. But at least they are all real TENORS.Bocelli is a POP TENOR, also works with the best conductors as it's MARKET like PJ

  • @starbreez3 You are almost as bad and as sad as serenaluce. You must be terribly jealous of his success! I wonder how well you sing this aria? You seem to know it very well!

  • @nekozune He speaks several languages and is certainly not a singing parrot! He knows what he is singing about!

  • @serenaluce Pavarotti was very popular. Domingo is popular. Being popular doesn't automatically make one less good. Fritz Wunderlich was very popular before he died so tragically young! You are certainly swimming frantically (and pointlessly) against the tide of opinion, and not just popular opinion! Jaroussky sings with top conductors and top ensembles. This is not just all due to publicity or "overpromotion".
