Clota was the pagan goddess of the river clyde, she was worshiped by many from the old religions and by a few still today.I live overlooking the clyde and she is beautiful to behold, there is even a legend of a mermaid who would sing to the dead at port glasgow on the clyde near to woodhall cemetry.

Hi - fantastic video loved it! My 7 year old is mad on the Romans just now and we are going to visit my parents in Greenock tomorrow (!) and wondered exactly where in Bishopton the ruins of the Wall are? Is that in the cemetary? Thanks Ax

Hi - The wall foundations can be found at New Kilpatrick Cemetery, the bath-house is in the Bearsden area.
The Bishopton Fort has been ploughed out but the Fortlet ditch at Lurg Moor is well preserved.
It's in the hills directly above Knocknairs cemetary & the Leven Road area. (Go to the Pylon at the top of the hill which is near a fence - If you look back towards Greenock, the fortlet is on your left on the next hill(follow the fence for a few metres)

Clota was the local tribe's name for the Clyde, probably named after a Celtic Goddess!!
Part 2 of Clota is available on youtube (see related links!)
Cheers!!!
