in some versions, like Tree63's, you don't need to palm mute. But if you want to play the original, Matt Redman, you should use palm muting.

hmm... i thought i explained it pretty clear in the video. anyway, it's 5th and 4th string 4th fret, and 3rd string 2nd fret

Hi, I was just wondering how you put your palm on the strings to make the sound softer...I mean I tried that but it doesn't make a sound...

it's pretty hard to explain. but basically, your palm is on the string the mute the strings. so when you strum it, the most important sound to hear is the bass note of each chord. if there's really no sound. try strumming it and then have your palm to mute the strings immediately after you strum a chord. it's like hitting down on the chord
