step 1 of solving the Rubik's cube: how to solve the cross.

The full solve consists of 7 steps, which you view on my website http://vanderblonk.com. I will soon have other videos which show you how to solve the complete cube.

Anyone can do it, I am positive! If you think it's too difficult, just follow the basic steps. You'll soon have a solved cube.

  • haha. if "its a free country and ill gladly ignore you", you shouldnt have posted that

the fact that u posted it is saying ur not ignoring it.

  • I'll gladly comment on that: mr know-it-all! LOL

  • I have a problem doing the cross. Every tutorial expects you to end up with each colour connecting through the top and middle of each side, from the cross points (ie. the white/red edge leading to a red middle square). But it's never like that once I've made a cross. The white/colour edge never leads to the same-coloured middle square.

  • This is the reason you should not just insert the edge somewhere, you have to insert it at it's initial location: so the red/white has to be put between the red and the white center. There's no replacing things later on, it has to be right from the start. I hope that's clear...

  • Hey i watch your video and was wondering if red white and blue white and so forth were in a different configuration would your technique still work.I know zero about those cubes.

  • Yes the technique is color neutral though it does take a little mental adjusting to another color scheme.

  • hey blonkm, did you use windows movie maker to make the video?

  • no, you will need to look at a solved cube and place your stickers accordingly. sorri bout ur luk

  • why do you get so frustrated by a fucking rubix cube chill down shit face xD im frustradet cuz i get 5000 bucks from my mom if i clear it

  • Evertime I get to the cross, none of the other sides match up in color.

    What do I do?

  • @dbreen1012: haha, check out the frustration :') Look, this guy in the vid is completely right, and yes, this method works for all scrampbled cubes. All you have to do is moving the edges (NOT the corners) to the white plane. In most cases, you just have to flip it once or twice, because it is already in the right alignment with the white plane. So, when it's not aligned, you have to "mix up the cube a little bit", just as he does from 3:00. Don't get frustrated, keep practicing.

  • hi can you solve a cube that may have had its stickers moved?

  • i need really detailed enstructions cuz i dnt understand tht part tht u have to form the cross without fucking up the cross

  • yep thats an easy one. there a lot harder than that!
