In this video demonstration we show you how easy it is to install and use ID2Q v4 (InDesign to Quark) conversion XTension within QuarkXPress 8. Lastly, we show you some neat things you can do with QuarkXPress which Adobe's InDesign CS4 cannot!

Transcript of ID2Q Demo:
1 Hello I am Olga and will give you a demonstration on the new ID2Q v4 from Markzware. In this tutorial I will show you how easy it is to convert an InDesign CS2, CS 3 or CS4 document into QuarkXPress 7 and now also QuarkXPress 8.

2 This is the original InDesign document.
It has multiple pages, lots of high-res images and pretty complex typography with various fonts and styles used.

3 Let's leave it there.

4 After purchasing the ID2Q v4 XTension from a reseller or online I place it in the QuarkXPress Xtension folder (just as easy as it sounds) and we are ready to go.

5 Now the ID2Q function can be found under the Utilities menu.

6 Select it and open the InDesign document that you'd like to convert.

7 Click on ok and the file converts in just couple of seconds. It is as easy as a click! Also, please keep in mind that ID2Q is for Macintosh or Windows and can even do a cross-platform conversion!

8 As you can see the conversion is more then 90% accurate.

9 Now I can just continue in QuarkXPress without having to recreate the entire document, saving me a ton of time and thus saving money.

10 ID2Q v4 can be purchases via a local reseller or online. It costs only 199 and is available for Macintosh or Windows. As mentioned before, it is an XTension for QuarkXPress 7 or 8.

11 Thank you for watching this demonstration on how easy and accurate Markzwares ID2Q or InDesign to QuarkXPress conversion utility is. Have a great day.

  • funny lady :)

  • There are more features available in Indesign CS3 than there is in Quark 8.01. I've used both now and I've come to the conclusion that Quark is overpriced and cannot do basic functions like adding strokes to text. Indesign does that and much more.
