First 5 minutes of Ernest Bloch's Schelomo with his own photographs made at the time of the composition in 1916. They include pictures of Alexadre Barganksy, the cellist who inspired Bloch to write Schelomo for the cello and his wife Katya, who sculpted an image of Solomon at the time to commemorate the piece. Also included are self-portraits Bloch made at the same time. All prints were edited and printed by Eric Johnson in 1974-77 from Bloch's original negatives. This video was produced by Eric Johnson from the prints he made from Bloch's negatives.
Beautiful!

A wonderful video. Thank you so much! I think it's important to point out that the cello soloist here is Pierre Fournier. I also believe this one of the very best recordings ever made of this wonderful work. Great job, thank you again.
